What is your Mission Statement?
We exist to welcome people in Taunton and its surrounding communities so that seeing our love for God they may seek to learn, grow and serve Jesus Christ here and throughout the world.
What is your Vision Statement?
Union Congregational Church seeks to be a warm & welcoming family church committed to Bible-centered preaching & teaching that strengthens the congregation’s historic spiritual foundation as it lives out its Christian faith by creating and sustaining a caring, compassionate love for others while focusing its ministry on children and youth thereby cultivating long-term spiritual and numeric growth.
When do you celebrate Communion?
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated in worship service on the first Sunday of each month.
How do I become a member of Union Congregational Church?
New Member classes offer the opportunity to meet with our pastor and some of the deacons to learn about church membership. These classes are held several times a year. Please feel free to contact the church office to inquire about our next class.
Where do I go?
Our church is located at 265 West Britannia Street, Taunton, MA. Parking is available in the lot accessed from Rockland Street. The church may be entered using the ramp from the parking lot or please feel free to come through our front doors to enter the sanctuary.
What should I say / Do?
We do our best to make sure the Sunday bulletin explains what we’re doing in worship. Let us know if we’ve missed something that would have helped. We are a friendly bunch and someone will greet you but there’s no pressure for you to introduce yourself.
What is service like?
Our service includes a mix of traditional and contemporary elements, from an organ anthem to a gregarious passing of the peace, to sharing joys and concerns aloud during prayer time. In all, a service typically lasts 60 minutes.
What should I wear?
Please wear what makes you comfortable! You'll find a mix of attire - anything from jeans and a t-shirt to a coat and tie.
Do you offer childcare or Sunday School?
Yes! Children are a cherished part of our community, and we welcome the babbles and giggles of little voices. A "Children's Message" takes place about 15 minutes into the service. Nursery care is available for younger children throughout the entire worship service, or you are welcome to keep them with you. There are rocking chairs available just outside the sanctuary should you like to use them.
What programs are available for Youth?
We have Sunday School classes for both Pre-K/Elementary and Middle School students. High School students stay in worship for the whole service.
What if I still have questions?
